Community Update from our Info officer Senedd visit and Grapevines

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all enjoying the summer and taking some time to look after yourselves.

Just a quick update from me as Information Officer at Mental Health Matters Wales

—things are going really well. One exciting development is the ongoing update of our Grapevines Bridgend website. It’s been around for a little while, but we’re now refreshing it with new content and improved access to local information and support. If you’d like to check it out, just Google “Grapevines Bridgend”—you’ll find plenty of useful resources there.

Today, I’m down at the Senedd, where I’m involved in an important event linked to the birth trauma inquiry currently being explored in Westminster. This session is part of a growing conversation about maternal mental health, and the insights from today will be shared with the Bridgend and perinatal mental health teams. Tomorrow, I’ll also be meeting with Mothers Matter to continue that work and keep the momentum going.

It’s been brilliant to meet so many people lately—thank you to everyone who’s been in touch. If you’d like to connect, help raise awareness of our work, or make sure more people know where to turn for support, please drop me a line: mark.williams@mhmwales.org

Wishing you a great week—and remember to look after yourselves first.

All the best,

Mark Williams
