Press Release-MHM Wales Continues Partnership with Cardiff and the Vale Health Board to Provide Therapeutic Support Services

mhmadmin

MHM Wales is pleased to announce the continued delivery of high-quality therapeutic support services in partnership with Cardiff and the Vale Health Board. This partnership will enable MHM Wales to continue providing person-centred activities to patients, particularly those living with cognitive impairments such as dementia.

The therapeutic activities provided by MHM Wales include Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST), memory recall games, arts and crafts, music therapy, and physical exercise. These services are designed to improve patients’ mental, physical, and emotional well-being by enhancing cognitive function, promoting social engagement, and improving emotional stability while reducing symptoms of anxiety and agitation.

For patients who are clinically optimised and awaiting discharge, MHM Wales will provide targeted discharge support to help them transition smoothly from hospital to home care. This includes connecting patients to community resources, social support networks, and wellness programs as part of the Health Board’s ‘When Can I Go Home?’ campaign, ensuring they are well-supported during the transition process.

“We are excited to continue our important work with Cardiff and the Vale Health Board in providing therapeutic services that improve the well-being of patients,” said Michaela Moore, Strategic Development Manager at MHM Wales. “We look forward to continuing our partnership and ensuring that more patients with cognitive impairments receive the support they need for a positive recovery and well-being.”

The service will be delivered in close collaboration with Cardiff and the Vale Health Board, including nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, social workers, and the Regional Partnership Board to ensure therapeutic activities align with patient care plans and medical goals. Additionally, MHM Wales will continue working with external partners like Pets as Therapy, Rubicon Dance, and The Health Charity, which will further enhance the therapeutic experience for patients.

MHM Wales extends its special thanks to Gabe and his team for their exceptional service and continued support in delivering high-quality, evidence-based, and innovative services to patients. Their dedication is instrumental in ensuring that MHM Wales continues to meet the needs of patients and improve their overall well-being.
