A Client’s Story: From Frustration to Relief
Recently, one of our IPA advocates received a message from a grateful client whose mother had been discharged from hospital without the necessary continence care in place. Despite multiple attempts to contact the social worker, they had received no response, leaving them struggling to purchase essential supplies themselves.
Recognising the urgency of the situation, our advocate stepped in. Zoe, a member of our team, visited the client after their social worker cancelled a scheduled meeting at the last minute. They discussed the urgent needs, including contacting the district nurse and ensuring the necessary continence care was put in place.
By the end of the day, after liaising with the continence team, an emergency prescription was issued, and the district nurse confirmed a full assessment would be conducted within the month. The client later reached out with this incredible feedback:
