Mental Health Matters Wales Secures £20,000 Funding to Support Dementia Services within Bridgend County Borough
Mental Health Matters Wales (MHM Wales) is delighted to announce we have received £20,000 in funding from the National Lottery Awards for All, enabling us to enhance our vital dementia support services over the next two years.
This funding will enable us to continue providing essential services to individuals living with dementia and their families within the Bridgend borough. It will ensure we can sustain support groups and peer networks, offer guidance and advice on managing behavioural changes, provide advocacy, develop community-based initiatives, and support individuals in maintaining their independence for as long as possible, all of which contribute to improving their quality of life.
Michaela Moore, Strategic Development Manager at MHM Wales, expressed gratitude for the funding:
"We are incredibly grateful for this support, which will make a real difference to those affected by dementia. This funding ensures we can continue offering vital services that empower individuals and provide much-needed support to families and carers. However, we are still short of the funds needed to meet the growing demand for our services, and we will continue fundraising to sustain and expand our work."
MHM Wales remains committed to delivering high-quality support for individuals living with dementia and their loved ones. While this funding is a huge help, there is still more to be done.
