Partnership in Action for Patient Wellbeing
This week, we had the pleasure of taking part in an uplifting Movement to Music session in collaboration with Rubicon Dance and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales (BBC NOW). This incredible partnership has been instrumental in bringing the power of music and movement to those who need it most, demonstrating how creative engagement can have a profound impact on patient wellbeing.
Why Movement to Music?
The combination of music and movement is more than just an enjoyable experience—it is a powerful tool for physical, emotional, and cognitive wellbeing. Research shows that structured movement sessions, particularly when paired with live music, can improve coordination, confidence, and overall mood, making it an invaluable resource for patients in healthcare settings.
Collaboration for Lasting Impact
Through partnership working, we can create real and lasting outcomes for patients. By bringing together expertise from the arts, healthcare, and community organisations, we are able to deliver innovative and meaningful experiences. The synergy between Rubicon Dance’s movement specialists and the world-class musicians from BBC NOW has enabled us to offer something truly unique.
These sessions are not just about physical movement—they provide an opportunity for connection, self-expression, and joy, breaking down barriers that isolation and health challenges can often bring.
A Huge Thank You
A heartfelt thank you to Rubicon Dance, BBC NOW, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, the Regional Partnership Board, and the Health Charity for making this session possible. Your commitment to inclusive, creative, and person-centred experiences is truly inspiring.
We look forward to continuing this journey and expanding access to these impactful sessions. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue working towards a future where movement and music play a central role in patient care!
