Monday Moments at MHM Wales. Sunshine, Cake and Real Connections

Mondays can be a challenge—but not at MHM Wales. This week began with smiles, warm welcomes, and meaningful moments across our wellbeing hubs. From birthday celebrations to strolls in the sun and new friendships formed over a cuppa, it was a day full of connection and community—exactly what’s needed to help people feel less alone and more supported.

Birthday Cheer in Ogmore Vale

We started the day with a birthday celebration at our Ogmore Vale Wellbeing Hub. It wasn’t just about the cake (though it was delicious!)—it was about creating a space where people feel part of something, where birthdays don’t go unnoticed and everyone has a chance to share in each other’s milestones. Simple moments like these can make a huge difference in someone’s week.

A Walk in the Sunshine with Our Dementia Hub

Later, we headed out on a wellbeing walk with our Dementia Hub group, taking full advantage of the bright weather. There’s something special about a walk in the fresh air—especially when it’s shared with friendly faces. These walks are a gentle way to lift spirits, encourage conversation, and stay active—all while offering a sense of routine and reassurance.

Games, Laughter and New Faces in Pencoed

Over at Pencoed Library, our Dementia Hub group enjoyed games, coffee and a good chat. We were especially pleased to welcome two new visitors, who quickly settled in and told us they’ll definitely be returning. That’s what it’s all about—making people feel welcome, included, and excited to come back.

Making a Difference, One Monday at a Time

All of these activities speak to something bigger. We’re not just filling time—we’re helping people build relationships, reduce feelings of isolation, and improve their mental wellbeing in ways that truly matter. It’s this kind of grassroots, community-based support that helps us meet the ambitions of the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act—creating a healthier, more equal Wales where no one is left behind.

If you or someone you know could benefit from a friendly chat, a supportive group, or simply a place to feel connected, we’d love to welcome you. Our wellbeing hubs are open to everyone, and there’s always something going on—from gentle walks and creative sessions to shared celebrations and quiet conversation. Get in touch to find out what’s happening near you, follow us on social media for updates, or drop by and say hello. Together, we’re building a more connected, supportive Wales—one day at a time.
