Mental Health Awareness Week: Strengthening Community Through Wellbeing Activities
At Mental Health Matters Wales (MHM Wales), we believe that community is at the heart of mental wellbeing. Mental Health Awareness Week is an important opportunity to highlight the value of connection, shared experiences, and supportive spaces that promote positive mental health.

Our Seated Lift Class: Bringing People Together
Yesterday, as part of our commitment to creating accessible wellbeing opportunities, we hosted a Seated Lift Class – a gentle, inclusive form of exercise that enables individuals of all ages and abilities to participate. Held in a warm and welcoming environment, the class brought together members of our community to experience the benefits of movement, social interaction, and mutual support.

Led by our skilled instructor, the session focused on improving mobility, building strength, and enhancing mental wellbeing. Participants not only enjoyed the physical benefits but also connected with others, reducing feelings of isolation and increasing their sense of belonging.
Why Community Matters for Mental Wellbeing
Being part of a community provides emotional support, reduces loneliness, and creates a sense of belonging – all of which are essential for maintaining positive mental health. At MHM Wales, we are proud to offer a range of community-based activities that empower individuals, promote self-care, and encourage meaningful connections.

Join Us in Promoting Mental Wellbeing
Mental Health Awareness Week is a reminder of the importance of looking after our mental health and supporting one another. Whether through classes like our Seated Lift session, peer support groups, or other community events, we are here to make a difference.
